GENDER

Topic: In many countries, women join the army as men do. However, some people argue that the army solely needs males. What is your opinion?

Over the past few decades, gender equality and permutation has been promoted in much of the world. Nowadays, women have set their foot in every walk of life. However, many adopt a view that women can and against their enrollment in the military. In my opinion, this is a severe mistake.

Firstly, thanks to gender equality, females nowadays can chase/pursue education opportunities. Meanwhile, the features of warfare have changed in particular, the battles have been computerized and programized. As a result of this, army recruitment policies no longer focus on strength and fitness but academic ability. Therefore, it is believed that females can perform military as their male counterparts, provided that they are well-educated and well-trained.

Secondly, women have in-birth-merits that stand them in good stead. In fact, it is common knowledge that women possess virtues high in dealing with hardship, consideration of others and patients. For this reason, they have a high presence in many jobs fields such as hospitals or logistics. In a military environment their characteristics are necessary in some tasks. For example taking care of the injured soldiers or maintaining a machine.

Notwithstanding mentioned benefits, women’ participation in the military has many problems that should be taken into account. Traditionally women are subject to special prejudices or sexual discrimination and their cultures. Serving the army, they have to face influences, pressure which are exerted on their family and friends. Furthermore, harassment is a common problem in most armies, discouraging females from serving their countries.

In conclusion, females have high literacy and (have inborn merits). This is the main justification to construe females yet they should take mentioned problems into consideration to prevent unpredictable, regrettable cases.
