THỂ CẦU KHIẾN - CAUSATIVE FORM
Khi sử dụng câu cầu khiến (sai bảo, nhờ vả, ép buộc) các bạn nên chú ý kỹ DO & TO DO khi sử dụng dạng câu cầu khiến Active.
I/ Câu cầu khiến chủ động (Active)
1. Sai ai, khiến ai, bảo ai làm gì - HAVE & GET
- to HAVE somebody DO something
- to GET somebody TO DO something
Ex:
- I'll HAVE Peter FIX my car.
- I'll GET Peter TO FIX my car.
2. Bắt buộc ai phải làm gì - MAKE & FORCE
- to MAKE somebody DO something
- to FORCE somebody TO DO something
Ex:
- The bank robbers MADE the manager GIVE them all the money.
- The bank robbers FORCED the manager TO GIVE them all the money.
3. Để cho ai, cho phép ai làm gì - LET & PERMIT/ALLOW
- to LET somebody DO something
- to PERMIT/ALLOW somebody TO DO something
Ex:
- I never want to LET you GO.
- My parents didn't PERMIT/ALLOW me TO COME home late.
4. Giúp ai làm gì - HELP
- to HELP somebody DO/TO DO something
- Khi có tân ngữ (object) là đại từ chung (e.g people) thì ta có thể lược bỏ tân ngữ và giới từ TO
- Khi tân ngữ của HELP và hành động DO thì ta cũng có thể lược bỏ tân ngữ và giới từ TO
Ex:
- Please HELP me TO THROW this table away.
- She HELPS me OPEN the door.
- This wonder drug WILL HELP (people TO) RECOVER more quickly.
- The fat body of the bear WILL HELP (him TO) KEEP him alive during hibernation.
II/ Câu cầu khiến bị động (Passive)
Cấu trúc chung của thể bị động là Causative Verbs + something + Past Participle (V3)
1. Nhờ ai đó làm gì - HAVE/GET something DONE
Ex:
- I HAVE my hair CUT.
- I GET my car WASHED.
2. Làm cho ai bị gì - MAKE somebody DONE
Ex - Working all night on Friday MADE me EXHAUSTED at the weekend.
3. Làm cho cái gì bị làm sao - CAUSE something DONE
Ex - The big thunder storm CAUSED many waterfront houses DAMAGED.
