(be) full up: no căng bụng
e.g. I’m completely full up after eating the whole cake.
pick at something (v) gặm nhấm, ăn hương ăn hoa
e.g. In order to lose weight, she only picked at dinner.
leftover (n) đồ thừa
e.g. Food leftovers can be used as compost for plants.
polish something off (v) ăn ngấu nghiến cái gì
e.g. Having eaten nothing since the morning, I polished off the whole bowl of rice.
acquired taste (n) một thứ dần dần được thích theo thời gian
e.g. Sushi can be considered an acquired taste.
grab a bite to eat (idiom): ăn nhanh
e.g. We decided to grab a bite to eat after nearly 10-hour of starving
eat like a horse (idiom): ăn nhiều, ăn khỏe
e.g. She looks thin. In fact, she eats like a horse.

eat like a bird (idiom): ăn cực kì ít
e.g. You cannot stay healthy if you continue eating like a bird.
bread and butter (idiom) công việc chính, dùng để kiếm sống
e.g. Teaching has been Mr. Tung’s bread and butter for many years.
egg somebody on (idiom): xúi giục ai làm gì (theo hướng tiêu cực)
e.g. He’s an adult. Nobody can egg him on unless he’s willing to.
