1. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Celebrations and Festivals
Đầu tiên là bài mẫu Speaking IELTS Part 1 về chủ đề Celebrations and Festivals.
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Celebrations and Festivals

How do you celebrate festivals in your country?
The traditional customs vary from festival to festival, so I also celebrate each festival in a distinct way. During Tet holiday, I will cook delicacies, and on Reunification day, I usually go to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to watch the flag-raising ceremony. But something that all my festival celebrations have in common is that always try to spend as much time as I can with my family and close friends. I do believe this is how most Vietnamese celebrate festivals as well.

How do you celebrate spring festivals?
Tet, on the other hand, is the most important Spring festival in our country. Families frequently visit their friends, neighbors, and relatives on New Year’s Days, which usually last 5 days, to wish them good luck and fortune in the coming year. Tet Holiday is especially exciting for children because they are given lucky money and are allowed to eat as much sweets and treats as they want. The entire family spends time together and feasts on a large spread of traditional foods.

What’s your favorite festival of the year?
The Lunar New Year has to be my favorite holiday. It usually lasts a week or longer, giving us ample opportunity to recharge our batteries. In addition, the start of a new year always brings with it a fresh sense of beginning something new. Whatever happened, you always have a second chance in the new year to make it great again. We can all look forward to the coming year with great joy, hope, and festivity.

How do you celebrate festivals in your country?
Each festival, on the other hand, brings with it a plethora of celebratory activities that are appropriate for each and every geographical region. We all celebrate major holidays such as New Year’s, Christmas, birthdays, and even the Mid-Autumn Festival, just like everyone else. We all enjoy good food and wine, as well as spending quality time with one another.

2. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Holidays
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Holidays

Where did you go for your last holiday?
My university friends and I flak—ed a cozy homestay in the heart of Da Nang a few months ago. We didn’t take a guided tour; instead, we devised a list of must-see sights in and around the city. It took a little more effort than my usual kaagm, but the trip exceeded my expectations in the end.

Do you like holidays? Why?
Yes, I agree. I enjoy holidays because they allow me to unwind, recharge my batteries, spend time with my family, and socialize with my friends.

Which public holiday do you like the most?
Tet, or the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is one of my all-time favorite holidays. It’s the best time of year because we can take a week off work and spend time together as a family. We make everything look nice and pretty, putting everyone in a good mood. We can invite our friends over to talk and enjoy each other’s company now that we have the time. Plus, during the Tet holiday, we eat our favorite foods and think about being nice to others, which produces a happy chemical in our bodies.

3. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Wallet
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Wallet

Do you use a wallet?
Yes, I’m currently carrying a Charles & Keith purse. This was a two-year-old gift from my best friend, and it’s large enough to hold cash, credit cards, identification documents, and my cellphone.

Have you ever lost your wallet?
I’d say once in a while. If my memory serves me correctly, I last misplaced my wallet 3-4 years ago while on vacation in Dalat. I was distracted because I was in a lovey-dovey relationship with this amazing girl and couldn’t think of anything else at the time (laugh). I’m sorry, but I’m getting off track. I reported the theft to the authorities, but the poor old wallet was never found.

Have you ever someone a wallet as a gift?
Yes, I believe a wallet is an excellent gift, and I recall giving one to a close friend for her birthday. I’m not sure if he likes it, but I think it’s a decent present. I’m thinking about asking him after the test.

4. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Advertisements
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Advertisements

What kinds of advertisements do you watch?
Really, whatever Youtube and TV decide to show me. Car or cosmetics-related advertisements are usually the ones that leave the most lasting impression on me. Aside from that, there are ads for household appliances, food, and toys.” In today’s world, practically anything can be advertised.

Where can you see advertisements?
At this time, advertising is literally everywhere. Wherever you go or on whatever digital platform you use, you will almost certainly come across an advertisement, whether traditional or digital. It’s now more difficult to avoid advertisements than it is to see them. When you’re commuting, you’re likely to see a random poster hung from a tree or a banner affixed to a streetlight. I’m sure you’ve noticed an advertisement every few seconds while scrolling through your Facebook wall.

Have you ever bought something from its advertisement?
Only if the advertisements fascinate me and promote products that I care about. The majority of the advertisements I’ve seen on social media are just scams, featuring useless products or services or even exaggerating their efficacy. As soon as those ads appeared, I clicked away. Recently, there has been a slew of advertisements on YOUTUBE for medicines that claim to cure everything. They are, in my opinion, nothing more than snake oil that deceives people into wasting their money.

5. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Farming
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Farming

Have you visited a farm?
Yes, I have, and it happened during a trip to Da Lat with some friends last spring. To be honest, neither of us was a big fan of nature, so the farm wasn’t originally on our list of things to do. We happened to pass by a strawberry orchard on the way and thought it looked lovely, so we decided to stop for a while.

What kind of farm do you like?
Farms that put effort and care into their products are my favorites. Ethical farms are those that treat farm animals humanely, feed them a nutritious diet, and do not use antibiotics. Farms that use minimal pesticides and grow non-GMO crops.

Do you think farming is important?
Yes, I believe farming is critical. Farms are an important part of the food industry, and they provide the majority of the world’s food. Farms provide fresh vegetables, fruits, dairy, grains, eggs, and other products. Farming also boosts a country’s economy and generates a large number of jobs.

6. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Sky and Stars
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Sky and Stars

Do you like to look at the sky?
Without a doubt, it is one of my favorite activities. No matter what time of day it is, the sky appears to be limitless, as if there is always something to admire. The sun, the clouds, the moon, and the stars are all around us… They’re all fascinating to me because astronomy has always piqued my interest since I was a child.

What is the sky like at night in your hometown?
Marvelous! Because there isn’t much light pollution here, the stars are very visible at night. I enjoy going to the beach late at night with a blanket and gazing (watching) at the brilliance of the stars. It makes me realize how incredible the universe truly is. Few things are more romantic than that!

Have you ever taken a course about stars?
No, I never formally studied astronomy because it was not offered at my high school. However, I believe it would be fascinating. My grandfather, fortunately, was very interested in astronomy and generously shared his knowledge with me, as well as giving me an encyclopedia full of useful information.

7. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Environment
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Environment

Would you like to work in a company related to environmental protection?
Yes, I would even go so far as to say that most, if not all, businesses should think about their environmental impact. Companies that specialize in environmental protection, in my opinion, cannot be the panacea to our problems.

Are there any environmental problems in your country?
Yes, we have a serious pollution problem in some of our major cities… Exhaust fumes from cars and trucks are undoubtedly a contributing factor, but we also have a lot of heavy industry in some areas, which contributes to poor air quality…
Do you take an interest in nature?
Yes, of course! As a city dweller, I rarely have the opportunity to interact with nature. As a result, whenever I have a vacation, I prefer to travel to a remote location where I can get closer to nature and learn about the natural world.

8. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Museum
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Museum

Do you often visit museum?
I’m a little embarrassed by this question. I must state unequivocally that I adore museums, and I believe that the word “adore” does not adequately express how I feel about them. However, I am not a frequent museum visitor. This is due to my limited time, or rather, spare time, as I am still a student and do not have a lot of free time to go out. But it’s also because I don’t have any friends who share my enthusiasm for museums. So they’re not really my go-to hangout spots with my friends, because when you ask them to go out with you, you have to consider their interests and personal feelings as well.

Are there many museums in your country?
To be honest, I have no idea. I’m not particularly interested in museums or historical sites, so I don’t notice if there are any in Hanoi. I believe there are a couple of museums nearby.

Do you think museums are useful for visitors?
Unfortunately, they will not be able to learn more about our traditional activities and culture. Yes, if they are interested in our history and the colonial wars that occurred in Vietnam. I believe that whether or not a location is considered ‘useful’ or’ suitable’ for tourists is determined by what they hope to gain from their visit.

9. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Hometown
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Hometown

Let’s talk about your hometown. Where is your hometown?
My dwelling is in Hanoi. It is one of the most outstanding tourist attractions of Vietnam. To talk about this city, I suppose this place is heading to “megacity” as it is densely populated with 8.5 residents according to the latest report in 2022. Moreover, it has become the largest city in Vietnam.

What do you like most about your hometown?
Hanoi is dynamic since more foreign investors are coming in, hence more job opportunities for the inhabitants here, especially the youngsters who are sharp with new trends. That is what I like most in this city because it seems like I will never be jobless if I live here.

What do you not like about it?
The problem of big cities is most likely the overload situation of every system. For example, the hospital is always overcrowded with patients, up to the point when people have to reserve an appointment for a week later to meet doctors. What’s more, the number of students in a classroom in public schools is about 50 people. This leads to a scenario where parents have to scramble to get a position for their children. I feel like living in Hanoi forces me to be in a situation when I always have to fight for my basic rights.

10. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Hobby
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Hobby

Do you have a hobby?
Definitely yes, I believe that everyone has at least one leisure pursuit and I am no exception. My favorite hobby is binge-watching movies. Currently, I am watching a TV series called “Dark”, which is a German science fiction film.

What are some popular free-time activities for Vietnamese young people?
Well, there are plenty of recreational activities that the young in Vietnam prefer doing in their leisure time. One of the most common activities that we would do is listening to music and watching movies, either at home or at the cinema. Another one whose popularity has increased dramatically these days is traveling. Young people generally have a strong sense of wanderlust and I am no exception at all.

Are there any harmful hobbies?
I believe that every hobby can become harmful if we are spending an excessive amount of time on it. As a result, we may not have enough time for other priorities such as study, work or family. For example, it is sometimes highly likely that I would end up watching movies all day and neglect all of the deadlines that I have to meet.

11. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Sport
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Sport

Do you like playing sports?
If outdoor walking counts as a sport, then it would be a solid yes for me! I do enjoy strolling in the park, and occasionally I even break into a jog. Jogging time has always been my favourite time of the week, as I get to escape a while from my sedentary lifestyle, and also enjoy the fresh breezes and natural scent of the park.

What sports are popular in your country?
Of course football it is! I think that in Vietnam, football is such a special sport, in the sense that it unites people together and even enhances national pride. I bet every Vietnamese would have experienced the victory cheering and chanting of the crowd at least once in their lifetime. That’s when I know that compared to other popular sports like badminton or martial arts, football would always be the king sport in my country.

What sport would you like to try in the future?
Well there are quite a lot of sports that I would like to have a go at, but if I had to choose one to try my hand at in the near future, that would be roller derby. After discovering my love for skating a few months ago, I have been training myself so that one day I would have the chance to compete in a roller derby. You know, it’s kinda an upgraded version of roller skating, but with contact and obviously, teamwork. It would be a dream come true for me to be in the Hanoi Roller Derby team next year.

12. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Staying up
Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Staying up

Do you often stay up late?
Well, one thing you should know about me is that I’m a night owl rather than an early bird. In fact, I’m more productive and creative when I study or work in the evening or even at night. • A night owl (n): cú đêm, người hay thức khuya
  • An early bird (n): người thường hay dậy sớm

Did you stay up late when you were a kid?
No, not at all. When I was small, my parents would never allow me to do that, and as a well-behaved and obedient child, I usually went to sleep before 9 pm. Moreover, at the time, going to bed early was just a piece of cake as there weren’t many entertainment tools that could distract me from enjoying my sleep.

  • Obedient (adj): vâng lời
  • A piece of cake (idiom): dễ như ăn kẹo

What do you do when you stay up late?
As I’ve told you before, I can maintain my concentration better at night, so whenever I stay up late, I often find something productive to do. I might read a book, watch a movie, or work on a project. It can be a great opportunity to explore new ideas and broaden my horizons.

Do you often listen to one type of music?
No, I don’t usually stick to one type of music. What genres I listen to are entirely determined by my mood. Speaking IELTS Part 1 – Chủ đề Small Business

Do you know any small businesses?
Yes, I happen to know a few. One is a local bakery that makes delicious cakes and pastries. Another is a small café serving coffee and tea, in addition to a variety of sandwiches and salads. Down the street where I live, there’s also a boutique that sells unique clothing. They have a great selection of clothes for both men and women. All of these businesses are owned and operated by local people, and they all provide great services to my community.

  • Pastry (n.): bánh ngọt

Do you prefer buying things in big companies or small businesses?
I prefer buying things from small businesses because I’m partial to the idea of supporting local businesses and helping to keep money in the local economy.
